After just a year on air, TXFM has won the prestigious IMRO Independent Radio Award, in recognition of its continued commitment to supporting Irish music and Irish music creators. This is a major accolade for the new station given the competitive music market it operates within against national, regional and local stations.

The award is presented by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) to the radio station which features the largest number of Irish music creators in its programming output. Keith Johnson, Chairman of IMRO said; “The Irish Music Rights Organisation represents Irish songwriters, composers and music publishers across all genres and the support of independent radio in bringing Irish musical talent to the wider public is critical to their success. This award reflects the commitment of everyone in TXFM to supporting Irish music.”

TXFM broadcasts the best indie / rock music to a weekly audience of around 50,000 music fans. “We consistently provide prominence to great new Irish music in our schedules as it gives us a real point of difference in a cluttered audio market. Receiving the IMRO Radio Award is testament to this and to the passion of the TXFM team in the promotion of Irish music. ” said Peter McPartlin, CEO of TXFM.
