Today FM listens to Ireland’s Emigrant Voices

Category: News, Today FM

138 thousand Irish people have left the country over the past three years, emigrating to countries like Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada and the UK.

Today FM reporter Helen Vaughan has spent the past few weeks touching base with some of those people to see why they left, if there’s any chance they’ll come home and what are the ties that bind them to Ireland. All this week on the National Lunchtime News we will host these stories in a special daily Emigrant Voices report featuring Ireland’s Facetime families, returned emigrants, the mammies left behind and the siblings cut adrift by emigration.

You can listen back to all of the stories here.
