Rugby Legend Rob Kearney Launches the 98FM Care for Kids Radiothon – April 14th – 16th
The first day of the 98FM Care for Kids Radiothon took place yesterday and will run until Saturday 16th April. Now in its 5th year the annual Radiothon is a broadcast marathon in aid of The National Children’s Hospital Tallaght and Temple Street Children’s Hospital and has successfully raised 1.5 MILLION EURO since 2007.
98FM will continue to broadcast from both hospitals today and tomorrow with presenters Aidan Power, Siobhan O’Connor, Claire Solan and Dermot Whelan speaking with patients, doctors, hospital staff and parents in an effort to highlight both moving and poignant stories from ill children all over the country. In what is an extraordinary insight into what happens in our children’s hospitals on a daily basis, listeners will hear stories of remarkable bravery, from heartbreaking to uplifting, in order to raise much needed funds.
Last week’s 98FM Mad Money winner Sandra Byrne will also be donating some of her €100,000 cash prize to the worthwhile cause tomorrow.
Speaking about this year’s radiothon, CEO of 98FM Chris Doyle said “We are asking all friends of 98FM to get involved and raise whatever funds they can for this great cause. Coffee mornings, no uniform day, bungee jumping, movies in the office, dress up day’s at work, busking… whatever it takes! We appreciate that times are tough and money is not as free flowing as previous years, but we know there are sick children out there who need an extra helping hand. 98FM aims to show the people of Dublin what a worthy cause this is.”
Donations are welcome so to take part in the 98 FM Care 4 Kids Radiothon’, text KIDS to 53981 or call 1850 33 98 98 or visit 98FM.com/kids for more information.
