Communicorp is delighted to announce the appointment of Ronan Harris to its board, as a non-executive director, with immediate effect.
Ronan is Vice President of Large Customer Sales for Google EMEA and sits on the board of Google Ireland. Based at the Google’s Dublin EMEA headquarters, Ronan has focused on growing the advertising sales business for new and existing markets. He is also responsible for launching operations for Google Checkout and other emerging businesses.
Commenting on Ronan’s appointment, Communicorp chairperson, Lucy Gaffney, said: “We are delighted to appoint Ronan to the Communicorp board. His extensive experience, both in domestic and foreign markets, will be invaluable to the Communicorp network. We are looking forward to working with Ronan and we wish him every success with his new position.”
A graduate in electronic engineering at University College Dublin, Ronan began his career with Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation at their Information Storage Products division in Japan. He went on to spend nine years in Japan, working in consulting, before returning to Ireland in 2001 to work in private equity. He then joined Google in 2005.
Ronan is currently Chairman of ICT Ireland, a member of the Executive Council of Dublin Chamber of Commerce and a board member of Focus Ireland. Communicorp Group Ltd was formed in 1989 by Irish entrepreneur Denis O’Brien and has since grown to be one of Europe’s biggest media owners.
