Bono and Berbatov take part in the BG Radio Annual Music Awards 2009!

Margarita Hranova receives the special BG Inspirer award!
Yesterday evening at a spectacular green ceremony in NDK's Hall 1 BG Radio gave out its 2009 Annual Music Awards. The listeners had more than a month to vote for the most distinguished BG artists and musicians on the radio's website www.bgradio.net.
This year for the first time the BG Radio award ceremony had its own mission. The motto of the 2009 BG Radio Annual Music Awards was: "Pure Bulgarian music for pure Bulgarian nature". The media which actively initiates, supports and participates in eco-campaigns dedicated this year's awards to the preservation of nature and appealed to the public with the words: "If everyone does something small, the effect will be huge". Live on bTV and City TV, the BG radio team promised to make an offset of the show, meaning that in the autumn they will plant as many trees as necessary in order to compensate for the harmful emissions, emitted as a result of the yesterday's magnificent ceremony.
Here are the winners in the 2009 BG RADIO ANNUAL MUSIC AWARDS, who received their statuettes on a green meadow and under eco-trees on the stage of NDK Hall 1:

- BG Video –"Enemy" – directed by Vasil Stefanov
In addition to the nine awards, whose winners were chosen by the listeners, for the forth time BG Radio gave the BG Ambassador award. The special prize, with which the radio distinguishes Bulgarians, who, with their achievements, have contributed to Bulgaria’s popularization in the world was given to Dimitar Berbatov. The captain of the Bulgarian national team and star of Manchester United, who left the green football field to receive his award at the green BG Radio ceremony in person, gave as a present a ball signed by him to a lucky man in the audience.
Presenters of the eco-show were ?rlin and Liubo who, in order to match the eco message, opened the ceremony on electrical and nature-friendly segways!
Without any doubt, the surprise of the evening was the message from Bono recorded especially for the only radio in Bulgaria, playing just Bulgarian music. The singer, who is actively engaged with many ecological and social causes, was inspired by the ceremony's theme and for the first time addressed directly the Bulgarian nation and supported BG Radio's green initiative. The frontman of the Irish musical giants U2 said in perfect Bulgarian: "NAZDRAVE!" ("CHEERS!") and Hall 1 erupt in a storm of applause.
Again new hits emerged at the BG Radio Annual Music Awards – Galya brilliantly performed her brand new song, prepared especially for the ceremony. Among the artists, who performed on stage on May 31st were also: the unquestionable winner of the evening Miro, who left with three awards, Kalin Velyov and Nina Nikolna with the Berkovitsa brass band, Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankulov with Neshka Robeva’s ensemble, who opened the ceremony with a special performance of “My beautiful forest”, D2, Krista, Nevena and Morandi’s Marius Moga and the Greek rapper Nivo, Mastilo, Toma and Deep Zone.
Margarita Hranova received the BG Inspirer 2009 award and performed one of her most beautiful songs - "Strive", together the presenters Liubo and Orlin; as a background to the performance served the unique photographs from Bulgaria, taken by Aleksandar Ivanov.
BG Radio also gave two special awards dedicated to two greatly missed people who passed away last year – maestro Vili Kazasyan and Dimityr Ekimov – Dimi from the band SLENG.
Todor Kolev and Hilda Kazasyan, Deniz Rizov and Funky, Julian Vergov and Bilyana Petrinska, Gergana Pasi and Solomon Pasi, Irina Florin and Nasko from B.T.R. appeared on the green stage in NDK’s Hall 1 to present awards.
