Dublin Couple Turn to Jelly as they Win their Dream Wedding with Dublin’s 98!

Saturday, 17th January, 2009: Dublin’s 98 rushed one engaged couple up the aisle today when they gave them their dream wedding free.
X and Y won an incredible dream wedding and honeymoon package on Dublin’s 98 that had every cash strapped couple in the city desperate to win for the past month. So desperate that one couple cycled around Stephens Green in bikinis in temperatures of minus one….!!
In an attempt to hold on to the wedding of their dreams in the height of a recession, nine engaged couples from all over Dublin went to almost desperate lengths to win the “I’d do anything for love competition”. Others danced the Macarena on the DART, busked at the Luas stop in Stephen’s Green, dressed as bride and groom, and one couple even auditioned for Big Brother.
The final lucky couple were X and Y who said they had been saving for Z to make their day extra special – and now they will be able to enjoy an amazing wedding package –free!
The final which took place at the Wedding Journal Show in CityWest Hotel, hosted by Dublin’s 98 Morning Crew, Dermot, Dave and Siobhan, saw the nine couples whittled down to just three slugging it out for a €17,000 wedding and a 5 star honeymoon to Mexico.
The fate of the three finalist couples’ boiled down to a nail biting game of chance where each couple had to simply guess the number of jelly wedding rings that were in a glass bowl.
