Average Quarter Hour listenership grows by 12%
JNLR results released today, 15th May, showNewstalk 106–108 fm now reaches half a million listeners across the country on a weekly basis. 29% of this audience is in Leinster (excluding Dublin) and 20% is in Munster*. All Prime Time programmes increased their audience, with the stations average quarter hour (AQH) increasing by 12% to 33,770**. The main programme highlights include:

The Right Hook with George Hook has grown its audience by another 3,000 nationally and continues to be the number one independent drivetime talk programme in Dublin.
The Breakfast Show with Claire Byrne and Ger Gilroy has added another 5,000 listeners nationally, indicative of a very strong Quarter 1 programme performance for 2008.
Speaking today, Elaine Geraghty, Chief Executive of Newstalk 106-108 fm, said;

Newstalk is now reaching half a million listeners every week and we are particularly pleased with the growth in Munster which now accounts for 20% of listeners and a very strong 29% of listeners in the greater Leinster area ".
