Olympic Boxing Hero Kenny Egan and Dublin’s 98 Step Up To Help Raise Funds For Children's Hospitals

Dublin’s 98 unites for the third time with the Children’s Miracle Network and Ireland’s three children’s hospitals; Our Lady’s Children's Hospital, Crumlin, Temple Street Children’s University Hospital and The National Children’s Hospital in Tallaght, for a two-day live radio broadcast on the 6th-7th March 2009 of the award winning Dublin’s 98 ‘Care 4 Kids Radiothon’. They will be joined by some of Ireland’s sporting greats such as Kenny Egan and The Bohemian FC Soccer Team
Children’s Miracle Network is an international non-profit organisation that raises funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals worldwide. Donations to Children’s Miracle Network events, including Radiothons, create miracles by funding medical care, research and education that improves the lives of children. The Dublin’s 98 'Care 4 Kids Radiothon' aims to highlight both moving and poignant stories from ill children all over the country and raise much needed funds for the three children's hospitals. During the Radiothon, parents and staff will get involved and share their tales of joy and woe with the general public.
Dublin’s 98 was the first radio station in Europe to host an event of this kind, in 2007 and the success was unprecedented. Over the last two years, Dublin’s 98 'Care 4 Kids Radiothon' has raised a whopping €1,183,810! This year, Dublin’s 98 aim is to top this figure by making the Dublin’s 98 ‘Care 4 Kids Radiothon’ even bigger and better than before!
From 6am-7pm on Friday the 6th and 9am- 6pm on Saturday the 7th of March 2009, Dublin’s 98 presenters will be broadcasting live from Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, with live links to Our Lady’s Children's Hospital, Crumlin and The Nationals Children’s Hospital, Tallaght.
