Daily listenership has increased by 16 percent for Newstalk 106-108 fm

JNLR results released today, 20th August, show that Newstalk 106–108 fm now reaches 257,000 listeners nationally daily, up 35,000 (up 16%) year on year and reaches 542,000 listeners every week, an increase of 49,000 (up 10%) year on year.
Other significant highlights from these results include:- Tom Dunne has grown the audience by an impressive 26,000 (up 53%), and is continuing to win listeners in this competitive day part.
- The Right Hook with George Hook has gained an additional 15,000 listeners, up 16%, and remains the No.1 programme on the station.
- Breakfast, with the recent introduction of Ivan Yates, has increased its audience by 12%, with an additional 8,000 listeners.
- There has been an increase in listenership of 25% over Munster, Connaught, Ulster and rest of Leinster.

Speaking today, Frank Cronin, Chief Executive of Newstalk 106-108 fm, said: “35,000 more listeners have joined Newstalk on a daily basis. The station continues to develop its independent position in the radio market. The listener increase is a reward for the contribution the Newstalk voice has made to the important national debate during this important time.”
