Dublin’s 98 Launch Extensive Digital Communications Programme. 62% Rise in Website Traffic Since Launch
18th August 2009
Tuesday 18th August 2009: Top Dublin radio station Dublin’s 98 have seen an increase of over 62% unique visits per month since the launch of their new-look website in July 2009. The re-design marked the start of Dublin’s 98 new tactics to engage with their online audience, incorporating Twitter, Facebook and their brand new iPhone application.
Speaking about the design of the new website, Edward Melvin from Dublin based web agency ICAN said “We are simply giving Dublin’s 98 the tools to fully engage with an online audience. Web and radio are a natural fit in many ways. Compelling media, user generated content and audience engagement is nothing new to radio. So we’re looking forward to seeing how the DJs use the web, as a platform”.
The new website lists a host of new features including new media centre that listeners can interact with, watch videos, get podcasts, download Mp3’s of the various shows, listen live or rate new music. There is also the Platinum Club for listeners which is free to join and offers members a host of new exclusive content and the chance to win cool new prizes!
The Dublin’s 98 iPhone app also ranked number 1 free application within its first two weeks of launch and enables users to link directly to Dublin’s 98 website, listen live from anywhere in the world and also wake up to Dublin’s best music mix with the Dublin’s 98 alarm clock feature.
Chris Doyle, CEO of Dublin’s 98 said “Dublin’s 98 listens to what our listeners wan. Everything is moving to the digital sphere, with over 900,000 Irish people on Facebook alone. We want to offer our listeners the chance to engage with us online, whether it is through our new website, twitter, Facebook, or our new iPhone application.”
Dublin’s 98 listeners can log onto www.dublins98.ie , http://twitter.com/dublins98 , on Facebook or by logging onto iTunes and downloading the Dublin’s 98 iPhone application.
