98FM Call Boobs Bluff at Leinster House this April Fools
Thousands of Dubliners believed there was a topless protest by hundreds of women taking place outside Leinster House this morning as part of an April Fools gag! The group, supposedly calling itself “Hooters for Health” were said to be protesting for a better health service in Ireland.
Listeners were taken in by the prank as they heard Siobhan O’Connor of the 98FM Morning Crew say that she would take her top off in solidarity with the women! Siobhan joined in the plea for Minister of Health, Mary Harney, to do the same, saying; “I think a protest like that might be the only thing that will get the government’s attention – and I’m up for it!”
Dermot Whelan, presenter with the 98FM Morning Crew, said “Thousands of texts were coming in from men who thought they were in for a treat!”
Dave Moore, from the 98FM Morning Crew added “It’s a sad reflection on just how bad our health service is if people believed this would actually happen!”
Tune into the 98FM Morning Crew weekdays with Dermot, Dave and Siobhan from 6am – 10am.
