Bernard Dunne hosts 98FM’s new talk show ‘The Inbox’
27th July 2007
Super Bantamweight champion boxer, Bernard Dunne, took time out from his training schedule to co-present 98FM’s new talk show ‘The Inbox’ yesterday evening. Bernard spoke about his training club in L.A. and not being too impressed by Hilary Swank and about his spot of tummy trouble before Saturday’s big fight!
While co-presenting the show, Bernard shared several interesting stories with co-presenter Alsion O’Reilly. He spoke about his recent success at The Point against Norway's Reidar Walstad and the pre-fight battle he had with diarrhea in the changing rooms after eating a bad Spaghetti Bolognese. Bernard ‘got sick violently’ after the fight but he said it didn’t affect his performance.
While in L.A. training, Bernard trained at the same gym as Jerry Maguire star, Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta and ‘Saved by the Bell’ heart throb, Mario Lopez.
Hollywood actress, Hilary Swank also worked out in the same gym. Bernard enlightened the 98FM listeners and co-presenter Alison O’Reilly, that while the two-time Academy Award-winning American actress looks fantastic in the magazines, he told Dubliners that in the gym ‘you wouldn’t look twice at her’.
Texts, emails and phone calls poured in from the listeners to express their delight about hearing the Dubliner sporting hero live on 98FM’s ‘The Inbox’.
The Inbox with Alison O'Reilly and Paul Connolly is 98FM's new talk show every Monday – Thursday from 8pm to 10pm.
