Newstalk continues to be Ireland’s Fastest Growing National Radio Station

 Results show strong momentum with 672,000 weekly listeners 

According to the latest JNLR results released today, Thursday 6th November 2014, Newstalk now reaches a record 376,000 listeners daily and 672,000 weekly listeners.

Additional highlights from the latest results include:

  • Newstalk ‘Breakfast’, hosted by Ivan Yates and Chris Donoghue, has 153,000 listeners daily – an increase in 32,000 listeners year on year
  • After twelve months ‘The Pat Kenny Show’ hosted by Pat Kenny has 143,000 listeners daily – an increase of 9,000 listeners book on book
  • ‘Moncrieff’ with Sean Moncrieff has 114,000 listeners daily – an increase of 4,000 year on year
  • ‘Lunchtime’ presented by Jonathan Healy has 75,000 listeners daily – an increase of 10,000 year on year
  • ‘Off The Ball’ presented by Ger Gilroy, Joe Molloy and team has 49,000 listeners daily – an increase of 9,000 year on year
  • The Sunday Show presented by Shane Coleman has 56,000 listeners weekly – an increase of 12,000 book on book

Commenting on the latest JNLR figures, Gerard Whelan, Newstalk CEO, said:

“We are delighted with today’s JNLR results as they reinforce our position as Ireland’s fastest growing national radio station. We’ve seen listener growth across the station, in particular Breakfast with Chris Donoghue and Ivan Yates, as well as The Pat Kenny Show continue on an upward trajectory.”

Mr Whelan continued, “The impact of our increasing investment in digital is also now showing through a higher level of on-line audience participation in our on- air programming. Currently 672,000 people nationwide are listening every week, with this momentum behind us we’re already looking forward to the next twelve months.”
