The past seven days have been rather eventful at Dublin’s TXFM. Having picked up an IMRO Independent Radio Award for supporting Irish music, running a brilliant U2 competition that saw one lucky listener win a trip to Vancouver, and announcing an exclusive DJ appearance on the station by Gaz Coombes of Supergrass, the JNLR numbers for the station arrived in to round out a stellar week.
TXFM’s weekly audience has grown from 43,000 to 45,000 and the daily reach has grown by 10% to 22,000. The numbers may look modest but this is a great performance for a brand new station catering for a discerning music audience, in a very competitive market.
To put the numbers into perspective, TXFM now has 15% more listeners per day than it’s predecessor Phantom 105.2 had when it closed, and almost 50% more per week.
TXFM has the youngest (and coolest) audience in Dublin. We play more music than anyone else and bring acts like Royal Blood, Jungle, War on Drugs, Caribou, Lord Huron, Father John Misty…to public prominence.
The word on the station around the music industry is getting stronger and the advertisers are taking notice too.
