Lucy Gaffney
Lucy Gaffney is Chairperson of Communicorp Group Limited which has 42 radio stations in 8 countries including Dublin's 98, Spin 103.8 and Today FM in Ireland. Ms. Gaffney is a Director of Digicel Group, operating in 27 countries in the Caribbean, South America and the Pacific Rim. She was formerly a Director and Chief Operations officer of Esat Telecom where she helped the company through its acquisition by British Telecom Group plc in January 2000.
Ms Gaffney is Chairperson of Boxer DTT Limited, a joint venture between Boxer TV-Access AB and Communicorp Group Limited, who were awarded the licence to provide digital terrestrial television services in Ireland in a joint venture with Boxer Sweden by The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland.
Ms. Gaffney is the Chairperson of the National Action Plan against Racism in Ireland (NAPR), 98FM, the Dublin Radio Station and previously held the position of Chairperson of Servecast, Europe's leading provider of broadband video solutions.
In 2000, Ms. Gaffney was appointed to the strategic advisory board of Tesco Ireland (British grocery retail chain) and the government-sponsored Campus Ireland Board, the Irish state agency responsible for the development of sport and sporting resources and facilities.
Ms. Gaffney was also a Director of the 2003 Special Olympics World Games hosted in Dublin. She was director of First Active for 3 years from 2001 to 2004 and then Ulster Bank from 2004 to 2007.
Ms. Gaffney is a graduate of The College of Marketing and Design, Dublin.
