Board Biographies

Lucy Gaffney Lucy Gaffney is Chairperson of Communicorp Group Limited an expanding communications group which media interests in Ireland, Europe and the Middle East including national radio stations Newstalk 106-108 and Today FM along with Dublin stations Dublin’s 98 and Spin 103.8. Ms. Gaffney is a Director of Digicel Group, a GSM cellular phone service in the Caribbean. The Digicel Group has extended its operations to 32 markets with over 10 million subscribers in the Caribbean, Central and South America regions. Digicel Pacific has recently launched a business in Nauru and operates in Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Vanuatu, Fiji and Tonga. Digicel Central America has recently launched businesses in Honduras and Panama. From March 2005 to December 2008 Ms Gaffney held the position of Chairperson of the National Action Plan against Racism in Ireland (NAPR). Ms Gaffney has previously held directorships in Special Olympics, First Active, Ulster Bank Limited and Campus Stadium Ireland. On the 13th March 2009, Ms Gaffney was appointed to the Board of Independent News & Media plc as a non-Executive Director. Ms Gaffney is a graduate of the College of Marketing and Design, Dublin.
