98FM Announces Costcutter as Official Sponsor of its Best of Dublin Awards 2015
Thursday 16th April 2015: Dublin’s 98FM today announced Costcutter as the sponsor of its Best of Dublin Awards 2015. Owned by the Barry Group, who also operate franchises Carry Out and Quik Pick, Costcutter has been named the official commercial sponsor of the awards over a two-month campaign. The awards, now in their second year, celebrate all that’s best about our capital city. Listeners will get the chance to nominate and vote for the city’s best hidden gems, people and businesses.
Last year’s 98FM Best of Dublin Awards received a staggering 312,000 votes from listeners which saw 23 year old Bobby Shane from Marino win overall best Dubliner for his die hard loyalty to the capital and contribution to training youths in his local GAA Club. This year the campaign kicks off next Monday 20th April which will culminate into a big awards Ceremony in Dublin City Centre.
Speaking about the sponsorship, CEO, 98FM Keith McCormack said, “We are thrilled to have the support of such an established Irish company like Barry Group who represent important local brands like Costcutter which are very much a part of the fabric of Dublin everyday life. We had such a huge reaction to the awards last year and are delighted to be bringing them back again in 2015. We will be adding more categories this year and all will be revealed on Monday April 20th…!”
Managing Director, Barry Group, Jim Barry added, “I’m delighted with our involvement with the 98FM Best in Dublin Awards. Costcutter is known across the country as being Proud to be Local so it’s a fitting partnership between us and an awards ceremony that honours those people that form the backbone of Dublin. I’m looking forward to seeing the nominees and I’ve a few ideas myself about a few of the categories!”
The 98FM Best of Dublin award categories will be announced next Monday, April 20th and the shortlist of nominations will be revealed in May on 98FM.com. The winners will be unveiled at a big awards ceremony hosted by 98FM’s Adrian Kennedy in Dublin on May 27th where all the nominees will be celebrated.
