Naked Breakfast is an Irish Radio First!

28th November 2014: Dublin’s 98FM hosted an Irish radio first this morning– a 100% live show with no pre-records, no delay button, no safety net… just LIVE music, LIVE guests, a LIVE audience, LIVE jingles and even LIVE ads! A host of exciting guests from the world of music and comedy were also LIVE on The Naked Breakfast which was broadcast from Vicar Street in front of 400 people this morning from 8am – 10am.

98FM breakfast show hosts Ray Foley and JP Gilbourne broadcasted their show ENTIRELY live at 8am with special guests and music performances. Ads and Jingles were performed by Paddy Courtney, Eric Lalor, Tara Flynn along with Irish band Key West who accompanied with sound effects and backing music. 98FM even flew in international renowned blockbuster movie voice over Dave Foxx who performed live station voice overs to add to the impressive spectacle. Not only that, but The Coronas were on site to entertain the crowd for the morning playing songs from their new album ‘The Long Way’.

Guests on the day included Love/Hate characters Janet (Mary Murray) and Paulie (Johnny Ward), former Irish Internationals Tony Ward and Shane Byrne, comedian Pat Shortt along with Olympia Panto director and star Simon Delaney, and the much adored Bosco event dropped by to say hello.

Speaking about the show, Presenter Ray Foley said, “We are delighted 98FM have given us the opportunity to this. This is radio in its most raw form and we had a blast while doing it. It was really amazing to be able to do this in front of a live audience and sets the bar high for next year!”
