From 7am until midnight today (Tues 8 March) 105.2 TXFM Dublin will be honouring International Women’s Day by celebrating women in music; with a jam-packed playlist of all the best tunes from the best female artists.
TXFM Breakfast presenter Cathal Funge, kicked off the day with UK alternative band Wolf Alice, before playing a wide range of tunes from the likes of Amy Winehouse, PJ Harvey, Bjork, Tori Amos, L7, Laura Marling, Etta James and the recently award winning Soak.
Following Cathal will be TXFM Daytime presenter Claire Beck who, from 11am-3pm, will select her favourite female artists.
Taking over the reins from 3pm-7pm is TXFM’s Joe Donnelly who will see to listeners’ requests all while playing the best female voices music has to offer.
A familiar face to the live music scene, DJ and TXFM presenter Kelly Anne Byrne will host a talk at Trinity College Dublin at 1pm, discussing topics such as women in music and women in radio, before heading back to Marconi House to present her weekly show TXFM Evenings. With a love for soul, disco and funk; Kelly Anne has a special show in store to represent women in music for International Women’s Day.
John Caddell, station manager and presenter of TXFM’s The Pick Up – a specialist music show home to Roots, Folk, Americana & Rock N’Roll – will end the day in true TXFM style, so be sure to tune in from 10pm – midnight.
